Beyond Scary...

My mom is a friend of one of their friends...

I'll be hugging my kids tighter today and whispering a prayer for this family.

A Milestone... I guess!

Jack's first broken bone... he fell off of a kid sized chair on Friday night (actually, I guess it was more of a crazy jump) and landed on his arm funny. He ended up breaking his humerus (the upper arm bone) right down near the elbow joint.

We took him to urgent care on Friday night where they took some x-rays and put him in a temporary cast. Today we took him to Children's Hospital where they took more x-rays and put him in a Packers green cast. He was a super patient even though I'm sure it hurt.

He'll be in the cast for 3 weeks and then a splint for a week and a half. Not bad at all- we figured it might be 6-8 weeks in a cast!

He's super bummed about not being able to take normal baths and tackle Daddy-O and Uncle Timmy... but it's only for about a month. He can make it! Here are some pictures...

A random cute one of Trouble

The first day of school- he's in the blue room! He doesn't even bring his Obeo to school anymore!

Heading in to school- a little apprehensive

Late Friday night- we finally had dinner at 9:30 after being at urgent care most of the evening

Proud as a Peacock

I can't tell you how proud I am of my son. He is LOVING preschool. He brought 2 dinosaurs to school on Wednesday for Show and Share. Tomorrow he's bringing a little cement mixer truck. He looks forward to going each day and can't wait to get there in the morning. On Friday he even decided- all on his own- to leave obeo at home! He actually went to school and had a great day without his beloved obeo. His teacher told Moe Moe that she wasn't surprised- he had just been leaving it on his hook all day anyway!! I'm so glad he's really enjoying this new experience.

Tonight we jokingly called him a vegetarian because he was picking the sausage off of his pizza. When he agreed that he is one- I asked him what he thought a vegetarian was. He said, "kids who don't eat meat stuff" How the heck did he know that??? We've never talked about that before!!!

I love how he's growing up... he's more fun each and every day!

As for Emma Lemma Ding Dong... let me just tell you this- when we see her coming, we all say, "HERE COMES TROUBLE!!!"

Preschool

Jack has had a great 2 days at school so far. He cried for just a few minutes yesterday- but got over it really quick and had fun on the playground and making some sort of speckled frog thing. I'm already looking into my schedule to see when I can take a day off from school so I can experience the preschool life.

I am so incredibly proud of him for being brave and enjoying his teacher and new adventures!

We took the kids to the public museum today- let me tell you all the fun Emma had WALKING around the whole place! That girl loves to explore and be independent. Plus she had the cutest little jeans on today that made her look like such a big girl!

The kids are at Moe Moe's tonight for a sleepover- dinner and a movie here we come!!!

Fluttering

I have butterflies in my stomach. Jack starts preschool tomorrow. I know he is so ready for it- but I'm nervous for him. He can be so shy. I hope he's brave and adventurous tomorrow.

The butterflies might also be because I'll be at school tomorrow and I'll miss the whole "first day" thing.

I took him to both open houses at his school- so I feel like I know his teacher and his room. I still wish I could be there.

My boy is going to school.

Can't believe it.
