Family

Yesterday B had the day off from work- so we went to the travel clinic and got our shots for our trip to Kenya. We both got shots for yellow fever, hepatitis A, and polio. We also have some prescriptions to pick up for typhoid and malaria medicine. Who knew it'd be this involved just to go on vacation! I guess that's what you get when you pick to vacation in a 3rd world country! Jack went with us and did a fine job playing with tongue depressors and stickers in the exam room. He was fine watching his Daddy-O get his shots, but when it was Mama's turn... the tears started to flow! I guess Jack isn't a big fan of watching someone stick those big needles into his Mama!

After the shots we went out to get some lunch and then headed home for nap time. I took a great nap, but Jack was having nothing of it- no matter how many times B went in there to lay him back down, he'd pop right up again and want to play. Later we realized he had a big stinky diaper! No wonder he wouldn't sleep!

Last night for dinner we headed to Uncle Timmy's new apartment! It's REALLY NICE! Timmy and Auntie Liz got new furniture, which is awesome- and A BIG HUGE TV!!! B was a huge fan of the tv- I think we might start saving up!

When we got home we had a champagne toast (ok, it was just 7Up) in our best champagne glasses from our wedding. For the first time in 11 months, we are living on our own as a family of 3 plus a dog. Nobody living with us, we're not living with anybody else, we're all on our own! HOORAY!!!!!

Before you start yelling at me Timmy, you know we're glad we could help you out by having you live with us, but you've got to agree it's been a long time since we've been on our own.

Congratulations on your first night as a family in WI. It's well-deserved and way too long in coming!! Let me know if you need a babysitter if you and B want a night out alone!
