We're headed to Chicago tomorrow with my mom... we'll be back on Saturday sometime. Wouldn't it be great to sleep in our own beds for a whole week at a time?? :)
Time to pack the suitcases, again!

2 Trips
Where do I even begin?? It seems like we've been out of town for the past 2 months instead of the past 2 weeks!
Let's see... our trip to Kansas City. It was great. Jack was a complete angel in the car. Somehow he realized that since it was just Jack and Mama in the car... there couldn't be any throwing of books or pacifiers and then yelling to get them back. He slept, he ate cheerios, he read books, he looked out the window, we sang songs... he was just awesome. On the way there, we stopped for an hour at the outlet mall in Iowa to stretch our legs. On the way home we only stopped for gas and diaper changes (his, not mine!!). I thought he might get really restless- but again, he was a complete angel for the whole 9 hour trip. That's my boy!
While we were in Kansas City we managed to eat at all of our favorite restaurants, see tons of friends, walk past the old house, and even buy some candles at our favorite candle store. It was a busy 6 days- filled with emotions. It was really hard to see the old house and neighborhood- but wonderful to see all of my kids at school. Sometimes I wish we'd never left, but then we get wrapped up in family and our new house here, and it's ok to be gone.
We got home on Wednesday night- had just enough time to repack the suitcases and sleep before we headed back to Madison to meet my mom at the airport. It was fantastic to see her again- even Jack was excited! When she walked over to him- he gave her this look that said "I remember you! Where in the world have you been??" And then he went right to her for a hug and a kiss. She brought tons of presents for everybody- Jack's favorite is the set of safari animals sitting on chairs and having tea at a table shaped like Africa! We spent the rest of Memorial Day weekend visiting friends, hosting a party for my mom, and attending a parade so we could see my brother in action as a police officer.
It's been a super busy 2 weeks- we're glad to be home for a few days. On Friday we're off to Chicago with my mom so she can see my grandpa and everyone else. She leaves again on Monday- at least we know we'll be seeing her in a few weeks in Kenya!
There are a ton of pictures... they're all out of order and displayed funny... but it's the fastest way to get a ton of pics up at once. Click on them to see the title...
