Hard to cuddle a toddler

On Saturday night J got to spend some time with his Grandma Moe Moe and Grandpa Mac while B and I went out to dinner and then to the Bucks game with some coworkers of B's. The game was pretty good, they lost of course, and we were sitting waaaaay up high, but it was nice to get out just the same. J's grandparents took him to Applebee's for dinner (aren't they brave?!) where I'm told he ate his macaroni and cheese and spit out his broccoli. Funny how he has come to realize that he will never get away with spitting out his veggies with Mama, but when she's not around... anything goes! What a stinker!

On Sunday J and I made a trip to my dad's house cause my great aunt Shirley was in town and I knew she'd like to see J for awhile. We went to see her over at my aunt and uncle's house. As soon as we got there, it became very clear that J is no longer that adorable little cuddlebug you can just hold on your lap and smooch. He definitely has a mind of his own and a will that's hard to break. So instead of cuddling with his GG Aunt Shirley (great, great)- he squirmed around on her lap and headed for the stairs or the piano. His first piano lessons were conducted by one of his favorite cousins, Clare.
